A web site based on the
MiraMon Map Reader
won the
International Möbius Award

The international jury of Möbius International gave a Special Mention to a web server based on the MiraMon Map Reader, in the Science section of the International Multimedia 2000 Möbius award. The Geographic Information System web site of the Department of the Environment of the Catalan Government won its second award on May 5th, 2000, in Paris.

The MiraMon Map Reader has been awarded the Special Mention in Science of the jury of the 8th Möbius International Multimedia Festival (see http://mobius.univ-paris8.fr) for its implementation as the Internet Geographical Information System of the Department of the Environment (DMA) of the Catalan Government (see http://www.gencat.es/mediamb/sig/sig.htm).

This 8th edition of the Möbius International Prize has been celebrated at the "Centre Pompidou" in Paris, from the 4th to the 6th of May, 2000.

The award was given by Professor Emili Prado in the award ceremony. The day before, Claudi Cervelló (DMA) had presented the web site to the jury and the rest of people there.


Claudi Cervelló shows the main functionalities
of the MiraMon Map Reader using Areas of Natural Interest Plan (PEIN)
and the Environmental Education Facilities.


There was a lot of people listening to
the presentations at the assembly hall in the "Centre Pompidou".
