  7th Week Geomatics, GlobalGeo and VI Forum GIT-GIS 2007. The group of research and development of MiraMon will be present at 7th Geomatics Week in the Conference Hall of Fira de Barcelona that will be from 20th to 23rd February of 2007, with four papers and a poster. In GlobalGeo, from the 20th to the 22nd February, a stand of MiraMon will be set and two showrooms will be carried out. The contributions to the VI Forum GIT-GIS will be a presentation and the participation in a round table that is going to be the 21st February.

  MiraMon celebration central act.
  As a part of 10th anniversary of MiraMon celebrations, there was a reception in Gaudí's "la Pedrera" where Carles Solà (Catalan Minister of Universities and Information Society) anounced and important iniciative: MiraMon will be a free software for public administrations, research centers, schools and universities in Catalonia in a near future because the ministry assumes the cost of those users.

  MiraMon launches version 5.1. With the new version, this Catalan GIS software continues among the top innovators on GIS applications. MiraMon now provides full support to Web Map Service (WMS) layers, an Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) specification that establishes a standardized way to access cartography through map browser systems based on Internet protocols. You can directly surf the Internet with MiraMon to visualize and query huge continuous cartographic layers (large series of ortophotos, thematic maps, etc) such as those hosted at IDEC, etc. Version 5.1 also presents an extraordinary extension of metadata capabilities (multi-language support, communication with the IDEC metadata catalog, etc.), new object selection functions, new analytical tools, etc.

  SISMA project. The map server is the Geographic Information System (GIS) of the TRAMA project, SISMA. It has been released using MiraMon Map server technology. This map server allows to see some enviromental problems (shown in the legend) and their associated risk level. It is possible to make zooms, pan through the map, select a town and and perform queries by location which retrieve information on the environmental problem at stake.

MiraMon developer group will present present 4 posters and have a stand at XI Congreso de Métodos Cuantitativos, Sistemas de Información Geográfica y Teledetección Tecnologías de la Información Geográfica: Territorio y Medio Ambiente; an event organized by the Departamento de Geografía Física, Humana y Análisis Regional Universidad de Murcia.   SatCat: Satellite image server of Catalonia. From June 2004 the Ministry of the Government of Catalonia Environment and Housing Documentation Center (Centre de Documentació del DMAH) (Av. Diagonal 525, Barcelona) offers a service where you are able to query and extract Landsat satellite images from Catalonia (SatCat). People interested in the real data can choose the area, date and satellite bands they want and then save them on their own CD or DVD. Dozens of satellite images are available from january 2002.   IDEC organizes a two day meeting: Seminaris 2004: Empreses de serveis SIG. This event will take place in the Institut Cartografic de Catalunya meeting room in Barcelona next 2nd and 9th of March. The first session is addressed to CEO's project managers and consultants. The second session is addressed to computer experts, and application developers. MiraMon is going to present its Internet technologies Thuesday the 9th at 12:30.

  The Mapa Digital dels Hàbitats d'Andorra Public presentation of the Andorran Digital Habitats Map in CD-ROM will take place in the Sala d'Actes de Prada Casadet (Andorra la Vella) at 19h. The session is going to be presided by the Ministre d'Educació, Cultura, Joventut i Esports and chairman of the Institut d'Estudis Andorrans, Mr. Xavier Montané Atero. In this work CREAF and MiraMon developed coordination and SIG technical tasks.

  Catalonia Land Cover Map was presented to the media. It is a 10 years project totaly carried out with on-screen digitizing and topology building MiraMon tools. Also, the final map is freely available on the net through MiraMon Internet technologies.

- 25th June 2001:
  The Land Cover Map for Andorra has been presented in Andorra la Vella.
  The elaboration of the map was possible thanks to a direct contract made by the Institut d'Estudis Andorrans. It covers the whole country at a scale 1:10000 and contains over 18000 polygons. The reference cartography used was the colour orthophotographs and the topographic maps at 1:5000. The map has been entirely made with MiraMon and represents one of the few cases where a whole country has such a good cartography. Now is also available on the Internet

  The international jury of Möbius International gave a Special Mention to a web server based on the MiraMon Map Reader, in the Science section of the International Multimedia 2000 Möbius award. The Geographic Information System web site of the Department of the Environment of the Catalan Government won its second award on May 5th, 2000, in Paris.

  The Geographic Information System web site of the Department of the Environment of the Catalan Government, based on the MiraMon Map Reader, won the scientific and technical section of the Barcelona Multimedia 1999 Möbius award, celebrated the last October 22nd.
