The projects carried out at CREAF can be divided into various categories:
- Competitive projects: These are State or European-wide or international projects funded by the Spanish Ministries of Education and Science and the Environment and the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA), the European Union, etc.
- Non-competitive contracts: These are local projects (funded by provincial councils, city councils, private enterprise, etc.), projects included in the "Contract programme" that CREAF has signed with the autonomous Catalan government, the Generalitat de Catalunya (most of them involve providing advisory and consultancy services), projects of continuous development (the results of which are used as a basis for other projects) called products and services.
